Master producer demands Rs 25 Crore compensation for movie piracy

Tamil leading hero and Thalapathy Vijay’s new film ‘Master’ was released during Sankranthi festival in Tami Nadu and across the world. It is getting very good response from the audience and able to garner significant collections.

Although the movie has got negative reviews, it could withstand that passive voice and collecting huge share for the makers. It has crossed over 150 Crore collections within a week despite there is a strict 50% occupancy rule in theatres. Otherwise, it could have received even more collections.

Lokesh Kanagaraj directed this action thriller in which another leading hero Vijay Sethupathi played the negative role opposite to hero Vijay.

Coming to the point, the producer Lalith Kumar has sent a legal notice to a digital company alleging that it has pirated Master movie and released on the internet a day before the official release of Master in theatres. Therefore, he is demanding that the company has to pay him Rs 25 Crore as compensation for pirating the film. Otherwise, he will take a legal action against the culprits.

According the media reports, a master print of the digital copy has sent to a digital company for sending it for overseas release. However, a person belonging to that digital agency has pirated the movie – Master – and sold it illegally making the producers of Master losing a big chunk of collections from the overseas market.
