Review : Adhugo – Failed Comedy !

Ravi Babu is known for making hatke films, while he was under the process of making this live animated movie, He has been testing with a live piglet and then tried sketching with some other chattels to be made on as the main character, but at last he chose to go with animating of a piglet. The movie is jointly made by Suresh Babu and the director cum writer Ravi Babu himself. Finally it hit the screens today. Let see how the movie turn out to be.

Story:-

Bunty, is the name of piglet which is claimed to be hero of the movie, Buntyt misplaced by a courier company and it eventually reaches out to the lead pairs, who are in search of their lost puppy. On the other hand, There are different gangs of people who are behind this piglet, one of them is Six pack Shankar (Ravi Babu).Why are they behind the piglet ?of course, for a reason. Things go out of hands when all these batches fight each other for the piglet.How Bunty escapes from all of them forms rest of the story.

Analysis:-

The basic idea to make a live animation film is to be applauded and the story premise was intentionally kept simple. Execution and the narration is where the director failed. Audience would have accepted the crazy stuff if had it been handled in a decent manner. But the problem with this film is with weird characterizations, and the screwy comedy.

Involving many subplots makes people even confused and this is the biggest drawback for the movie. The animated piglet is reasonable convinced though.

There are a few comedy chases featuring the piglet which have been executed pretty well in the last five minutes of the first half. One of the villains who has anger management issues has been showcased in a funny manner.

The film misses out on basic emotions as none of the scenes create any impact. The second half of the film gets even boring as the absurd comedy is thrown and the comedy is hardly funny.

It tests the patience in bits and pieces undoubtedly.

Characterisations:-

Ravi Babu is good in his role of sixpack Shankar. The comedy derived from this character is commendable. The piglet has been created through VFX is pretty decent, the visual effects are decent enough.

Coming to the heroine character,Nabha Natesh is done well with the limitation this character got as the reel time of her presence is less. Other characters are negligible as rest of them unfamiliar faces except Ravi Babu and Nabha Natesh.

Voice over for the piglet has been given by veteran actor Rajendra Prasad is apt though. Technical values are decent. Prashant Vihari’s music okay okay.

Verdict:- On the whole, basic idea is good but failed to execute. VFX work is decently convincing but comedy thrown in the proceedings goes overboard, It barely makes out.
