ASURAN remake of Venkatesh made on mind numbing budget

Venkatesh Daggubati is busy with his upcoming Telugu film, which is a remake of Tamil blockbuster movie Asuran. Recently in an interview, Suresh Babu has also confirmed that Srikanth Addala will direct Asuran remake for Venkatesh.

Asuran, based on popular Tamil novel Vekkai, turned out to be a blockbuster with over Rs 100 crore in the bank. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film is the blood-soaked revenge story of a father, a farmer who avenges the ruthless murder of his son. The film featured Dhanush in dual roles.

After a long gap Srikanth Addala is making his comeback in the film industry with this remake. Apparently, Suresh Babu has asked Srikanth Addala to wrap up the entire film – Asuran remake within Rs 13 Cr budget.

The sources say that Venkatesh will not be charging any remuneration to act in Asuran remake but he will be taking his share from the profits. The rest of the cast and crew of this upcoming film are yet to be officially announced, but and the latest buzz is that actress Shriya Saran is likely to reprise Manju Warrier’s role.
