Nandi Awards may be distributed from now on

As most of us know that, an entrustment of senior actors, directors and producers representing the Telugu film industry have met Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office, on Tuesday.

The state government said it would allow re-opening of cinemas only after the Centre issues relevant guidelines, post-COVID-19 lockdown.

Perni Nani, who is the minister of tranpsort and I&PR for AP assured a meet with officials to formulate a structured mechanism for the shooting as per covid-19 norms. Chiru also thanked CM Jagan for responding positively about the issue of ‘excluding the burdensome prices charged by theatres.’

Distribution of Nandi Awards was halted for almost 5 years. Awards for 2019–20 are set to be given as the film fraternity seek encouragement from the government. It was reported that the Nandi award ceremony is expected to take place later this year.
