Tapsee’s film makes headlines for getting insurance

After sparkling in Telugu films,Taapsee Pannu went into Bollywood and shining like a super lady luck. Now her new film making headlines, the film titled, Looop Lapeta could possibly become one of the first Bollywood films to have covered the COVID-19 insurance. The comedy thriller’s producers Tanujj Garg and Atul Kasbekar are reportedly in talks with legal firms for acquiring COVID-19 insurance for their upcoming projects. The Taapsee Pannu starrer is expected to be the first from their line-up to be covered by this insurance.

The producer said what a COVID-19 insurance will essentially necessitate is similar to what an accident insurance covers. Unpredictable scenarios like an actor falling ill or occurrence of natural calamities leading to delays in the film schedule or detrimental to shoot sets is likely to be compensated.

“Supposedly if a crew member tests positive for covid-19, the complete unit present at the set will be cooped up to quarantine. In such circumstances, the producers will be covered by the insured money they are spending on days lost,” he added. Kasbekar said the film is more outdoor based and is pretty tough to shoot during the rainy season. The unit is contemplating to shoot post monsoon as the schedule remains tentative currently.

The team will continue the shoot post-monsoon since it’s an outdoorsy film and they cannot take that risk. The film has already been shot in Mumbai and Goa and with the shoot continuing after monsoon, the makers are looking to resume it post-Diwali.
