When will cinemas open in India?

While China will allow most cinema theatres to re-open from July 20, the film administration said on Thursday, six months after they were forced to close as part of draconian measures to contain the novel coronavirus.

Permission to resume theatres across India would be granted from August 1st. The Centre will issue a statement about the same very soon.

Though the Centre grants permissions to reopen the theatres, the situations are not favorable. The distributors and exhibitors across Telugu states are not ready to resume the services as there are not enough films ready for release.

Strict sanitation measures, wearing of masks, no eatables inside the hall & only 30% capacity will be allowed and only limited shows will be aired first.
