Rakul almost confirmed to play Karanam Malleswari

As the biopic trend on sports personalities has been the phenomenon, a film on the life story of weightlifting legend Karnam Malleswari was announced in June by Kona Venkat and his Co. Lady director Sanjana Reddy will be directing the film. Until today, there is no official word about the actress, who will reprise the titular role,

But the latest reports suggest that Rakul might be starring in this prestigious project.The noted director  is doing some research on the life journey of the acclaimed weight lifter who landed India its first ever medal in the Olympics. Vizag MP MVV Satyanarayana will be presenting this much-talked-about biopic.

Kona Venkat is in talks with Rakul Preet Singh and moreover feels that a fitness enthusiast like Rakul will perfectly suit the role of Karanam Malleswari.However, Rakul still has to give her nod.
