AR Rahman appointed as Bafta break through initiative ambassador

Ace Music Director A R Rahman received a rare honour as he is appointed as ‘Bafta break through initiative ambassador’ by British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) on Monday. He along with Netflix and other jury members will identify the talented people in cinema, sports, and television fields.

While expressing his pleasure over the appointment, AR Rahman said “I consider this as a golden opportunity to find extraordinary talent from India and placing it on the world stage”.

Bafta chief executive Amanda Berry said, “We are very happy to appoint AR Rahman as ambassador, because his experience in working with Hindi, Telugu and Tamil cinema will extensively help Bafta”.

Bafta will guide the career of the artists selected by the jury for a period of one full year.
