Uppena geared up for a fancy debut on OTT

Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty starrer Uppena is making big bucks at box office and is breaking several records in the process. Now the grapevine from Tollywood folks says that the movie has got a bumper offer from OTT platform Netflix. It is said that Netflix has offered Rs 7 crore for the digital rights of Uppena movie. According to the reports, Netflix is making arrangements to stream the hit flick in April first or second week. Though Netflix is known for shelling out big bucks to buy the rights of hit movies, this amount is considered as a fancy one for a small movie like Uppena.

Meanwhile, Uppena is still doing good business at movie halls and is considered as the first big hit in Telugu film industry after the theatres have been opened post lockdown. Though it starred debutantes Panja Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty, became a huge hit owing to its powerful concept and hit music. Top director Sukumar gave the story and produced it while his direction assistant Buchibabu Sana wielded the megaphone. Uppena is a debut movie even for Buchibabu, but he handled well and delivered a hit. Presence of Tamil star Vijay Setupati and Devi Sri Prasad’s music were the big pluses for this small budget flick.
