Superstar Rajanikanth to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke award

The government of India has named Superstar Rajanikanth for Dadasaheb Phalke award for the year 2019 for his contribution to the film industry. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar made this announcement that Rajanikanth will be honoured with 51st Dadasaheb Phalke award.

Host of political leaders including Prime Minister Modi congratulated Rajanikanth for the honour. Congratulating the superstar, PM Modi tweeted, “Popular across generations, a body of work few can boast of, diverse roles and an endearing personality…that’s Shri @rajinikanth Ji for you.

“It is a matter of immense joy that Thalaiva has been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Congratulations to him.”

Responding to PM’s wishes, Rajanikanth tweeted, “Immensely humbled and honoured with your greetings and the most prestigious #DadasahebPhalkeAward award respected and dearest Shri @narendramodi ji. My heartfelt thanks to you and the government of India”.

Prominent film personalities and political leaders conveyed their wishes to Rajanikanth for being honoured with Dada Saheb Phalke Award.

Meanwhile, social media was abuzz with comments from users that Rajanikanth was conferred with the prestigious award for gaining political mileage in the context of Tamil Nadu elections.
