Preview: Arjun Reddy – for youth only.
Vijay Devarakonda has reached to a special height with the surprise hit of Pelli Choopulu. Vanga’s have come up with this movie titles Arjun Reddy for which Sandeep Reddy is director and Pranay being the producer. This movie released as a Vinayaka Chavithi gift to the audience.
Arjun Reddy was in highlights with its First Look, Teasers in social media. This movie also received attacks from women forums for kissing poster. All these helped Arjun Reddy to reach into the public. Let's see whether the film could encash the mileage or not?
Story :
Arjun Reddy (Vijay Devarakonda) is an arrogant medico who is aggressive, short-tempered and often forgets things very soon. Preethi Shetty (Shalini Pande) enters into his life. She is junior to Arjun Reddy in the same college. Arjun falls in love at first sight. Though late, Preethi also reciprocates with her love.
They both emotionally and physically get together. They both decide to express their love to their parents and get married. Preethi’s dad doesn’t accept their love and gets her married to another person. Arjun Reddy gets disturbed emotionally. He distances himself from his doctoral degree and embraces bad habits. What happens next? Does Arjun Reddy change? Does any other woman enter his life? How does the movie end? These all aspects will be better on the screen only.

Cast and performance :
firstly, we need to appreciate Vijay Devarakonda’s acting skills. He proved his caliber in acting and dialogues. His mass look and a draped beard give a mass attraction. He had done justice to the dual roles of aggressive young guy and as a vagabond who is depressed in losing his love. Every scene with Vijay will look special.
Shalini too has done some justice to her role as a college mate. Romantic scenes between hero and heroine are at a perfect pitch.
Rahul Ramakrishna is a perfect fit as Vijay’s friend. He will make us laugh with his tickles at times.
Jiya Sarma, Priya Darsi, Kamal Kamaraj, Sanjay Swarup, Kanchana have acted well within their limits.
Technical :
The highlight of the movie is Raj Thota’s picturisation. His work behind the lens is skillful.
Radhan’s music has added some credits to the film’s narration. His RR work is also OK.
Editing could have been fine-tuned by Sasank. Mainly the runtime of the movie will disappoint the audience. He stretched the duration a bit.
Anantha Sriram’s lyrics were pleasing. Pranay Vanga didn't compromise at production levels.
Debut director Sandeep did well in his very first film. He secures good marks for his making skills. Director must have kept special attention for the duration which is a big minus to this film. He could succeed in designing lovemaking scenes between hero and heroine which will attract youth.
The second half is very dragging. Some unrealistic scenes of Vijay trying to forget Preethi cannot be digested well. The climax could have been planned more interestingly. The film closes with a very dull note leaving nothing much to the audience to remember.
Analysis :
Sandeep’s debut directional film Arjun Reddy has most concentration of love failure drama. Except Hero Vijay’s acting and few lovemaking scenes, there is nothing much WOW feeling in any part of the film. Sandeep tried to catch hold of the youth only and missed out in calculating runtime and second half is quite boring.
