Review: Paisa Vasool: Balayya – Puri Mass Brand
Balayya has a super hit film Gautama Putra Satakarni in 2017. Now Paisa Vasool is out for public as NBK-101. As per public talk, Puri Jagannath has shown Balayya in a refreshingly new avatar. As usual, Balayya’s dialogues are always crazy. Puri has been struggling hard with flops. Balayya fans are expecting Teda Singh will bring a hit to Puri. Let's get into Paisa Vasool review in detail.
Story :
Bob Marley (Vikram Jeet) is a big mafia leader living in Portugal. Bob’s brother Sunny (Amit) is killed by Indian RAW officer (Kabir Bedi). Bob decides to create havoc in India in response to Sunny’s killing. He plans a massive plot to create unrest in India. At the same moment, Teda Singh (Balakrishna) is released from Tihar Jail after a sentence. While Indian Police are trying to catch hold of Bob, they were facing difficulties with Portugal Government laws and rules.
RAW Officer finds an apt person to deal with this situation. He strikes a deal with Teda Singh and plans to use him. How does Teda Singh trap Bob? Why Teda Singh goes to jail? What is the relation with Harika (Muskan) and Sarika (Sriya)?

Cast & Performance :
Balayya needs a certain mention. His 101st film has shown him in a different look and stylish. Balayya is usually known for powerful dialogues but in Paisa Vasool, his action episodes are also worth watching. These mass dialogues of Balayya will stay in audience minds forever. Puri has utilized Balayya’s mass skills to the maximum.
“Biharlo taaginchinavadini, teeharlo poyinchaa, tu kyare avule”,
“Nannu ikkada kaalchaalante naa abhimanulaina ayyi vundaali, naa bandhuvulaina ayyi vundaali”
“Simhaaniki meka ereyyaalanukovdam correcte kaani aa plan ni mekalanni kalipi cheyadame”
“Jebulo cheyyipettu…Emaina Tagilindaa?”
The song sung by Balayya himself received non stop whistles in the theatre. The dialogue before interval “Only fans and family, outers not allowed” has taken the Nandamuri fans to a new peak.
Balakrishna sizzled in a romance with heroines in all songs. Overall Puri has struggled hard to get a different style from Balayya.
Though Paisa Vasool has three heroines, the major focus is on Sriya only. Her acting in Portugal episodes is too good. Kaira Dutt has rocked in an item song. Muskan is restricted only to few scenes and a song.
Ali is a must be in Puri’s movie but he could not make audience tickle without any remarkable comedy. Kabir Bedi as a RAW Officer has acted well and made his presence felt.
Other casts, prudhvi, Pavitra Lokesh, Vikram Jeet have tried to prove their acting.
Technical :
Puri director is traveling in a bad phase of his journey. He tried to bounce back with his brand and Paisa Vasool has perfectly proved his effort. Puri has designed the story to highlight Balakrishna at most occasions. He balanced the ratio of story, dialogues, and action in equal portions. The way in which country and patriotism are explained is a certain plus to the film. Few mistakes are found in the storyline but are overshadowed with Balayya’s acting. Traces of narration in Puri’s previous films is seen at times.
Anup Rubens music has been a big disappointment. Sparing the Balayya song “Maama Ek Peg Laa” no other song is worth mentioning.
Junaid Siddiqui has done the editing work without any boring scenes and he is successful in this area.
Another highlight of the movie is Mukhesh’s cinematography. He has shown chasing scenes and song locations with a classic touch.
Coming to production values, this is the most spent out movie of Balayya and Bhavya Creations V.Anand Prasad’s spending on the richness is evident on Portugal episodes.
Analysis :
NBK-101 stands out to be outright variation and cannot be compared with previous 100. Fans will see Balayya in a different avatar. All the ingredients of a mass movie like fights, masala dialogues, mass songs are in plenty. As per the title, Paisa Vasool has all the qualities to squeeze audience pockets. Puri has been successful in getting the mass appeal. Twists in the story and Balayya dialogues will bring some interest. Overall, Paisa Vasool is a Puri-Balayya Mass Brand film. You will enjoy once if you are a core Balayya fan.
