Review: Ungarala Rambabu – Confused Ring Master
Sunil has taken a different avatar as a hero while he was at the zenith of his career. First two films have been accepted by the audience as a variety. Later as Sunil couldn’t strike the chord with heroism, failures followed. Sunil’s career slid down to rock bottom. As of now, Sunil’s movies have gone beyond thoughts. At this juncture, Director Kranthi Madhav took it as a challenge to resurrect the defunct Sunil’s career. He was famed for his movies “Onamalu” and “Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju”. Let us see if Kranthi Madhav could bring back charm of Sunil?
Story :
Rambabu (Sunil) is a rich and sensitive guy who is the heir of his ancestral property of more than Rs. 200 Crores. His grandpa dies all of a sudden while Rambabu is enjoying all the riches. After the death of grandpa, all his assets reduce to ashes. Rambabu is now confined to roads. At this time Badam Baba (Posani) meets Rambabu. He advises Rambabu to plant an Almond tree so that all his riches can be regained. Rambabu follows his suggestion.
Exactly where the tree is planted, he luckily gets 200 Crore rupees worth of Gold. Since then Rambabu starts believing in Horoscope. He starts a Volvo service. Since then additional problems keep creeping in. Again he meets Badam Babu for another advice. What could be that idea? From where did the Gold come to the tree? What is the relation between Communist leader Ranga Nayar (Prakash Raj) and Ram Babu? For all the remaining story we may visit the nearest theatre.
Positives :

– Comedy of Badam Baba
Negatives :
– Narration of the story
– Comedy links
– Disasterous Music
– Boring sequences

– Disasterous Music

Cast and Performance :
* As usual, Sunil tried to attract an audience with his acting skills and danced well.
* Heroine Miya George has only been used for glamour show. There is no scope for her role.
* Pisani and Badam Baba has made the audience laugh to an extent. Venu, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Vennela Kishore also tried to tickle the audience.
* Prakash Raj has justified his roles as a family head and village head.
* Rajiv Kanakala, Raja Ravindra, Madhu Nandan, Prabhas Sreenu, Tagubothu Ramesh they keep on coming and going on the screen. You will never know the reason.
Technical :
* You will surely get irritated with Gibran’s music. You will never know why songs are placed. Background music is not appealing at all.
* Sarvesh Murari is a bit OK in cinematography.
* Total disaster in editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Many scenes could just be lifted. Be ready to run away from your seats during Kerala episode.
* Production values are OK.
* You won't believe the fact that a director who has created some feel-good movies could ever make such a directionless film. He wrote a logic less story. You will be confused along with Sunil on the screen. You will keep thinking that how a hero who is fond of horoscope could ever visit Dubai, Kerala and why he visits Kerala for communists, How can people in Kerala speak Telugu? These all doubts will leave you thinking all through.
Analysis :
Vungarala Rambabu didn’t add any value to Sunil who is traveling in his flop journey. It is not understood how Sunil could accept this confusing and monotonous script. There is nothing much in the film other than Posani’s comedy bits. At the end of the movie, Sunil will remain as a confused ringmaster in a circus. Think not twice but thrice before attempting to bear this hammering.
