Pan india film releases on OTT

For the second time in less than a week, writer-producer Kona Venkat had to clarify on social media that Nishabdham is not hitting OTT anytime soon.

Even though the makers of the Anushka Shetty-starrer cleared the air about its theatrical release, the rumours don’t seem to die down. On May 22, Kona Venkat, one of the producers of Nishabdham, revealed that they might go for an OTT release if the situation is not favourable.

Hemant Madhukar’s pan-Indian directorial, which was also set to release as Silence, was to have a theatrical release on April 2. But release was pushed due to the on-going novel coronavirus pandemic and recently, speculation has been rife of an OTT release. With numerous Hindi, Tamil and even Kannada and Malayalam films opting for a digital release in recent times, Telugu film industry has held back so far, with the exception of Amrutharamam which got a digital release.
