Review: Nene Review:e Mantri – Twisted storyline
Rana has registered a special identity with his latest gigantic hit Baahubali. He established a perfect clarity on his film career and is cruising ahead. Ghazi being an experimental hit has also added credits to Rana. This Friday he came with a political drama background movie Nene Raju Nene Mantri. Earlier Rana has had donned the role of a political leader in “Leader” but in that film, his role was as a simple and sincere political leader with classy looks. Whereas, his role as Jogendra in NRNM is “full mass” role and this film has gathered a lost of craze with Bhallaladeva. Let's see how successful he had been.
Story :
Cinema starts with a flashback of Jogendra (Rana) rewinding about his past. Radha (Kajal) and Jogendra are married and leading a happy life. He as a small businessman wishes to contest for Sarpanch post of his village. From there, he takes a stride and reaches a stage where he gets into CM race. He gets into friendship with a TV channel owner and he uses this channel for his political gain. Being in politics many people turn as his enemies. To protect from them and to sustain in politics he loses all the wealth.
He gets vexed up and later decides to quit politics and return to his village. With an unfortunate twist of event, he had to again contest for the post of CM. What are the reasons? Why Jogendra had to go to jail? Why a money launderer had to be a sarpanch? For these its better shown on the screen.
Positives :
– Rana’s Acting
– Anup Ruben’s Music
Negatives :
– Narration
– logicless storyline
– lengthy run
Cast & Performance :
Rana is a best-known actor when it comes to his acting skills. This movie was a platform for Rana to show his heroism. His body language, performance, and role of Jogendra were so lively. He took all the responsibility of NRNM on his shoulders. Special mention is mandatory for Rana’s talent in elevating the negative shade. In the contrary, his emotional, shade is highly impressive.
Kajal Agarwal as Radha had improvised her persona. She held a very vital role in the story.
Catherine Tresa is apt to her role as TV Channel owner.
Ashutosh Rana could have used more of his skills as a villain.
Comedy of Posani Krishna Murali and Bitter Satti though seemed routine but tried to give some punches. Navdeep is just OK. Shivaji Raja has impressed.
As a CM, Tanikella Bharani has excelled his artistic experience. Ajay, Prabhas Sreenu is just OK.
Technical :
Anup Rubens background score is the highlight of the film. He proved that he is fit for such serious films too.
The cinematography of Venkat C Dileep is quite sensible. He could create a perfect mood with his camera work.
Production values at the highest range.
Lakshmi Bhupal’s dialogues have registered very well and applauded.
Teja has been branded as a love story maker. Nene Raju Nene Mantri has shown a different angle of Director Teja. it is felt that he had tried to cover trending political conditions but if he could have gone deeper into core politics, the tinge would have been tastier. He could have taken the story a bit nearer to practicality. This is where he missed out.
Analysis :
If we compare Director Teja’s previous films with Nene Raju Nene Mantri, this film is completely a new experiment. Even we consider this as a special film he missed out logic at many points. This left the audience confusing at times. We can’t mention at any point that the particular scene is perfect. The problem is that this film looked more as a drama rather than a political thriller. The overall impression is that story is illogically twisted. Credits only to Rana.
